OUR TEAM

President and Founder of Total Translations & Transcultural Services, María José Gavier was born in the USA, grew up in Argentina and spent most of her life living in between both countries. Maria is a Sociologist with extensive experience as a translator, interpreter, and consultant working with the Latino community in the USA in a variety of projects and programs. María is a multicultural facilitator, specialized in focus groups, interviews and community meetings. She has a genuine interest in issues that affect the Latino community in the USA and the world.

MARÍA GAVIER
President/Founder

Ana Laura Viñuela was born in California to an Argentine diplomat, thus naturally possessing both nationalities. Having also lived in Toronto, Canada, during her childhood, she spent most of her adulthood in Mendoza, Argentina. With a degree in Interior Design, and as a Professional Sworn Translator, she has worked in several interdisciplinary projects with varied subject matter, ranging from literary and legal, to business and academic topics, among others.
Ana Laura’s native grasp on both Spanish and English is a product of experimenting and living among contrasting cultures, allowing her an understanding of the differences in idiosyncrasy between Anglo and Latin American nationals.
She has great people skills and a meticulous attention to detail that can be clearly noticed in each aspect of her work.

ANA LAURA VIÑUELA
Project Manager

Marcela Rodríguez, Costa Rican, began her career with a technical degree in business administration, excelling in her workplace. Seeking to broaden her horizons, she enrolled at the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica to study law. Despite the challenges of balancing studies and work, her determination led her to discover her passion for justice. She excelled, not only academically, but also in extracurricular activities, focusing on community projects. Envisioning her future in corporate law and social responsibility, Marcela became an example of perseverance and demonstrated how education can transform lives.

MARCELA RODRIGUEZ
Administrative Assistant

Wenyuan Wu is a Ph.D. candidate in International Studies at the University of Miami. She was born and raised in southeast China, received a college education in southwest China, and has furthered her graduate-level studies in the U.S. since 2009. She has interned for several banks and international trade companies as a business analyst, a manager assistant and worked as an accountant in the retail industry. Wenyuan is a social scientist who has taken on a particular interest in China-Latin America Relations. She has published short digest articles and long research papers on China and Latin America and also has completed extensive research on the topic including translation projects and report writing.

Carla Jean-Oscar is a native of Haiti and has lived in the United States for the last 20 years. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Miami and her master’s degree in Public Health (Epidemiology) from the Florida International University. Carla has provided her translating services to various organizations, both private and public. She is passionate about serving the Haitian community, giving a voice to those who are under-served & underrepresented through interpretation & translation.

CARLA JEAN-OSCAR

Angelica Alison was born in Costa Rica and has been living in the USA for the past 20 years. Angelica is an experienced interpreter in Spanish, English, Spanish Sign Language, and American Sign Language. She has worked extensively in educational and public health programs and projects to serve the Latino community in the USA. Angelica is extremely interested in multiculturalism and community outreach.

Magdalena Defort is originally from Poland and holds a Ph.D. (graduated with Cum Laudem) from Universidad National Autónoma de México (UNAM). She is certified with postdoctoral studies from the Institute of Social Research from the same university with an extensive multicultural background.

Gastón Leone was born in Argentina and grew up in the USA. He graduated from Metro State University with a B.S. in Aviation Technology. Gastón also has an extensive background in the music industry and is passionate about music and art.

Adela Samper-Imaz was born and raised in Mexico and has now been living in Denver, Colorado for a few years. 

Ms. Samper-Imaz is a multicultural and bilingual professional with extensive experience interpreting and translating in several fields. 

Among other things, Ms. Samper-Imaz has held prestigious positions at the Barbara Davis Center and the Latino/a Research and Policy Center at the University of Colorado, Denver and Health Sciences Center, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, as well as the Mexican Consulate in San Antonio, Texas. 

She is an instructor for English as a Second Language and Spanish using the Foreign Service International program as adapted by Platiquemos, Inc. and GED. 

She has the intrinsic motivation of helping Latinos and, as a community service, she offers Bilingual instruction for immigrants pursuing citizenship at Denver Justice.
